About Us
We are Rachael and Rebecca we own and run The Cat’s Pyjamas Sheffield.
We grew up with cats around the house and now each have two of our own, its fair to say we are rather keen on them! We’re both very lucky to have adopted rescue cats. These little furry creatures are our number one priority so we understand the anxieties associated with leaving them whilst you are away on holiday.
We are also both home owners so appreciate that you wouldn’t want just anybody having access to your house. We realised the need for this service when our lovely cat sitter moved away from the area and we didn’t want to disrupt our cats by putting them in a cattery for a week.
Here’s a bit more about us:
Rachael
My husband and I moved to Nether Edge four years ago. After spending the best part of a year of renovating our house we decided that it was time to get a cat so we adopted Molly Moggins a beautiful black girl who was about one when she moved in. A year or so later we couldn’t resist getting another so we adopted Albert Ghengis Meowington Berry (aka Boggins), a tabby boy, as a kitten from the Shropshire Cat Rescue where my Mum is a volunteer. He was the only surviving kitten from a litter that had had cat flu. They are both big personalities and as well as being a massive part of our lives they are well known by most of our neighbours and the local pet guinea pigs!

Having previously studied here as students my husband and I moved back to Sheffield two years ago and have settled in Nether Edge. It was fortuitous timing that we had an offer accepted on our house just as two day-old kittens were found abandoned. It was a nervous twelve weeks wait whilst they were hand-reared by the volunteers at the Shropshire Cat Rescue before we could finally bring them home.
Antonia Bellatrix Sowter is a very beautiful and gentle long haired black cat, she is an expert moth catcher and prefers to be left until after 9am before being woken. Geoffrey Dumbledore Sowter is an extremely affectionate black and white boy whose whole aim in life is to picked up and cuddled, he does however need to learn how to share pillows more fairly. Getting our two cats was the best decision we ever made and they have truly made our house a home.
